It must be a family thing. If we're going to do something we'll do it all the way or not at all. Sir Oliver has been taking notes, because today he had his first blow-out, and he sure did it "all the way"...
Naturally he waited until we were away from home, I was at my 6 week postpartum appointment, 20 minutes from home, with errands to run afterwards. He waited until it was nice and quiet so that lots of people could hear him very loudly defecate. And then he wailed like I was sticking him with a pin - at the top of his lungs. This is my baby who never cries over a messy diaper at home.
Quite naturally the baby poop exploded from every escape route in the diaper and was all over everything in the car seat.... Great goopy fun.
Maybe I should have a talk with Sir Oliver about not being such an over-achiever.
And this, which I just happened to have attached to my diaper bag is my new best friend.

We've had a couple of in-diaper blowouts, but usually Peanut likes to wait until we're changing her diaper to "do it all the way" so it shoots off our changing table and all over the carpet. It makes us really happy. Perhaps it's the feeling of diaper freedom that makes her let loose.
