consequences

When you are a picky eater, you are bound to get REALLY hungry sooner or later. Then you get desperate.
Yup, that's Sir O having a go at an onion... skin and all. Blecht.

So Em...[wink]...which parent was it that put a yuky onion within reach of a curious, hungry, unsuspecting toddler trapped in a high chair just for a photo op? Hmmm? ;>

In my VAST mothering experience I have found eating issues go in phases. The silly child starves himself for a while and then eats well for a while, then back to starving and stressing his mother, but eventually he returns to eating again. Okay, so my mothering experience isn't vast, but that's what Spencer has been doing lately. A dietician once told me that children are excellent at self-regulating the amount of food they need, so don't stress. So, I do my best not to stress too much and most of the time I am successful...most of the time. Wishing you lots of luck with your adorable picky eater!

Sir O generally likes onions....
so yes, he was taking real bites.
But his DAD gave him the onion... I just walked in on the scene and chose to take the picture.
sheesh.

Renn gave him the onion?! Maybe he was trying to teach him about foods to avoid through natural consequences. Sorry bout the accusation, Em. Maybe Oliver is learning to be wary or selective of the food he is "served" and is discovering that he can forage for himself (ie. animal cookies) and doesn't always have to rely on parents in order to obtain food. Oliver seems to be an advanced child. Maybe at 18 months he is already arriving at the independent two year old stage.
