This month I'm enrolled in Nicole's Photo 101 course in an attempt to polish my photography skills. It's so weird to have homework again! (Almost as weird as cramming for my floral design exam this same time last year). Here's a peek at some shots I've taken for my homework assignment this week. I find it hilarious that I appear to like my photographs tight and close (with shallow depth of field), just like my floral designs.....

very cool, em.
yes, it is fun to see our personal stylistic preferences come out when we put our works up together.
really nice colors on those; did you tweak them at all or are those the natural colors?
I tweaked the exposure a bit, but not the colors really (other than blacks). I'm trying really hard to shoot clean.
Love them Em. Beautiful!
Beautiful, Em! I love seeing all your photos get better and better. I've found I tend to like the tight shots, too. If only I had manual settings to adjust and learn how to use. I hope you post more of your homework. Maybe I'll post some of mine from Alma's class.
@hsf, yes do!
Hey Em, how are you enjoying Nicole's class. I want to take this one too. Your pics are gorgeous by the way, and for some reason I also like photos CU with a shallow depth of field. I wonder if its something we picked up from film school?
