Sir O came bounding home from school today, more amicable than usual. That window of time when he transitions back to being at home after school is tricky. More often than not he is like a 4 foot hurricane. But today he was rather smiley.
And I realized how fleeting a thing this wonky smile of his is. I felt compelled to make a record of it. That second front tooth is ready to bust out of there, and he'll be singing "All I want for Christmas is my..."
Charming, no? His 1st grade teachers tell me he's the most self-aware student they've ever had. I'm still trying to figure out exactly what that means, but I suspect it's half the result of his innate personality, and half the result of having me for his mother.
