Cold Front

I went home sick yesterday - after being at work barely an hour. Considering that it takes me almost an hour to get to or from work, that borders on being remarkable. I was coughing so hard I couldn't take phone calls (so I was basically rendered useless at work anyway) I went home and slept for an hour and then worked on my Mother's Christmas Present for about 8 hours. That was not nearly as restful and recuperative as it was supposed to be. BUT, I am almost 90% finished with it (the gift) and once I am done - I will have Christmas entirely under my belt. I think I will sleep better too. Considering that my parents just started their shopping last night - I feel pretty good about myself. I made a fair portion of my gifts myself, I sent handmade Christmas cards out at the beginning of December, we got all our Christmas goodies delivered Tuesday (the garlicy bread I mentioned before) and we are sitting pretty to coast through the holiday. I love being prepared, even if I'm usually not very good at it. But in this case it turned out to be a lifesaver, since if I hadn't had Christmas nearly finished by Thanksgiving this year, I doubt that any of it would have gotten done amidst the barfing and the general orneriness. Little Blessing.
