To the doctor and back, and all's well

Ah, how silly is it that my favorite thing about going to the doctor is that I avoid yucky morning commutes?

I guess we have exciting news though. The baby's head is engaged, and I'm dialated to 2 centimeters. While this does not mean that the baby is going to fall out at any moment, it did make my doctor say she doubts I'll make it past my due date.

So I guess I have 16 work days left at most. Crazy.

And can anybody beat this for a potentially awkward situation? While I'm laying on the ultrasound table all naked and covered in ultrasound goop - the fire alarm in the hospital goes off. Oh yes - it really happened. Well I was not leaving that room until I was de-gooped and dressed, so luckily there was no fire.

My hips are on strike... probably has something to do with the baby's head being lodged between them. I think they will be happy when this is all over.

I would have just stayed in the room too! That is like a worst nightmare! I am glad there was no fire and you weren't dragged out of the hospital in a sheet or something!:) I was dialated to a 2 and the next time I went in she gave me a date to be induced. I went to the hospital to be induced and I was already in labor, so hopefully your little guy will be ready to come out soon!:) I am excited for you!

Hooray! Your just that much closer to having your baby on the outside instead of on the inside!

Yay! Good news! And yes, your hips will breathe a sigh of releif soon after baby arrives...

Speaking of awkward situations, be sure that you and Renn get your trunk monkey-pediatric edition on order just in case the delivery doesn't happen in the hospital as planned. After all, you have a track record of less than stellar luck when it comes to automobiles. ;)
