My mighty mom knowledge

(Things I wouldn't have believed...)

My husband asked me to take Sir Oliver the other day because his arms were getting tired. He'd been holding him for maybe 15 minutes. I held him the rest of the evening. I must have some muscles! There's a first for everything.

I've had to go to the bathroom for stretches of up to 48 hours before I got around to relieving myself.

How after so long without a decent stretch of sleep, it actually has stopped bugging me much.

That being able to fit into my jeans doesn't mean I have (or ever will have) my body back. I think I'll be forever soft around the middle.

How important it was to get nursing bras that only take one hand to maneuver.

How a haircut that takes 8-15 minutes to style is a ludicrous thing. Wet pigtails again.

How much I miss my brain, where'd it go?

Bahahah!! I so understand. Especially the body thing. Will I ever be the same? Probably not. I'm still working on getting a shower at least every other day. Gross, I know, but it doesn't always happen.

HAHAHAHA-ha ha~
We're all in the same boat with you, mama! No one would beleive us if we told them beforehand, though.

I haven't slept through the night in over 5 years. And I don't even think about it anymore.

You body will never be the same. That doesn't mean it's not beautiful, just different.

My brain has been missing for quite some time...

I still can't fit into my old jeans- just can't get rid of that "muffin top" that bubbles over the waistband...

Wet, piled-up bun, here.

Make-up? Ha!

Shower every day? Do people really get to do that?? I settle for every other, and just try not to feel too grossed out!

Shower?! I laugh at your wet pigtails, I'm dry... oh too dry. I also have "if I only had a brain..." wandering through my head right now. gushy middle here. It's even worse after a c-section or 2 (at least that's my excuse).

I totally second the c-section thing. I think it's because the muscles were cut, not just stretched. It makes sense in my still not functioning brain.

Just when you think you can sleep through the night because your only child finally does, you get pregnant again and it starts all over...

Ponytails.

Shower every OTHER day. There is NO way I could do it every day. I hate it, but I will live!

No brain here!:)

No doubt you do have muscles after lugging Oliver all over the place. We tease Kim about having "Kaylee guns" from carrying our grand daughter so much. However, I've noticed over the years that most Mom's have learned the secret of carrying most of their kid's weight on their hip, whereas some Dads try to brute force it with their arms, which gets old quickly. You'll just have to tell Renn to get bigger hips!
