I'm trying to come up with an economical sort of gift that is still fun and handcrafted-ish. This may just work, only next time I will DEFINITELY embroider the lettering instead of cutting it out and stitching around it on the machine. That was ridiculous.

As much as I 'd like to make something fantastic (like a quilt) for every baby, I've neither the time nor money for it.
So now I've just got to figure out how to make these well!

Those are so stinkin' cute. Did it take forever to stitch around every single letter? You must have some supreme patience.
I received a tag blanket as a gift when my little girl was born. I will have to post a picture of it sometime. It is basically 2 pieces of fabric sewn together, with a bunch of pieces of ribbon "tags" that the baby can grab at and chew on. My little one loves it! I have decided to start making them for shower gifts. That little onesie is so cute! I think you are very crafty!:)
Adorable. Wow, you are like Miss Domestic Diva. So the opposite of me. I would never take the time to do that. I'm impressed.
That looks terrific! When my nephew was born in December, I made illustrated onesies with iron-on transfers. They don't last forever, but kids outgrow them anyway:

That makes me proud to be a mama, that is, to know that mY baby is homemade!!! (tee hee, they're not THAT hard to make!!!)
I love your idea!!! (Would you be upset if I copied it, that is, if I ever got ambitious enough to do so???)
*gasp* I love that! So, so cute! I think I must make one for Peanut. care if I steal your idea? You ARE crafty!
I've also been meaning to try what Chan mentioned because if there's a tag Peanut will find it. I just need to get in gear and do it.
steal away, just don't show up at a baby shower that I'm going to...we'll have the same gift!
