Oliver's birthday cake is DONE! Huge weight off my shoulders. It was my first time experimenting with fondant, since I like to try things I've never been properly trained to do. It looks obviously homemade, but I'm still happy with it.![](https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgVHAI3GEDHYNqUYHLqPKmr5EBeu8YC9eYwJcYezt9ssyWwu9RwUpl9yG0v00FNAMe68GD0cfcn5PvtTF2ifUIlzIZ06EAZqWJGasb-MocQiSzuaLqO3Ggla15AyAyf8NErkU_QUw/s400/IMG_6415%5B1%5D)
Meanwhile Mr Renn and Sir Oliver have thoroughly enjoyed each other's company. Mr Renn snapped this picture while they were watching some Baby Einstein. Methinks I need to teach him how to adjust the camera settings....or at least find the auto button.
AND a happy surprise. My Favorite Things swap package arrived here! I thought it would land in Philly and I'd have to wait until August to see it. Check out the booty! What a happy thought! (Thanks Barb!)

I ADORE the cake!! I've always wanted to try making one myself, but I've never really had the occasion or the bravery to try.
