keeping

"If the power and blessings of God are made manifest in your preservation from danger,... you should make a record of it. Keep an account of the dealings of God with you daily. I have written all the blessings I have received, and I would not take gold for them... Should we not have respect enough to God to make a record of those blessings which He pours out upon us and our official acts which we do in his name upon the face of the earth?"
Wilford Woodruff

I started a private, paper journal again. Somehow blogging wasn't cutting the mustard in this spiritual regard. So every night before I hop on the sueño train, I try to record any epiphanies I may have had, try to recognize some blessings God gave me that day, and make a general summary on the state of my spiritual affairs for the day.

It's funny how much easier it is to remember something when you are actually keeping track of it.

I guess that means it's time for an exercise journal. Somebody asked me if I was pregnant today. Mr Renn and I are both having trouble squeezing into our jeans. Hopefully Fall will actually arrive here in Philly so I can bear the thought of going for a vigorous walk. (And I am NOT pregnant).
Trying to visualize abs of non-gelatinous mass-ness, but I can't get past my stretch marks.

Wow. I thought you writing about me for a minute there. I love the accountability that putting the truth down on a piece of paper provides. If you don't mind, I'm going to copycat everything you just talked about.

Ooh. Grr. I was asked the same thing twice this last week. Double grr. I thought I was looking better. Obviously not. More grr.

It's taken me a while to start to see past the stretch marks. I'm still not perfectly okay with them but getting the abs in better shape helps me see past them. Good luck with all your good doings, you have a long list:)

Em, when you were in Utah visiting us I noticed how AWESOME you looked! You looked AMAZING! So... just tell whomever asked you if you were pregnant to GO EAT ROCKS.
And, I would like to maybe think about doing a similar journal. It would be a nice switch from my angry journal. ha ha.

I agree about the paper journal. Some things are just too personal for me to blog. I've been meaning to start a regular journal again. You just gave me the motivation to do it, and a "thankful" journal? What a good idea!

Don't people know not to ask if you're pregnant? Seriously. Jelly-belly is part of motherhood right? Wear your scars proudly-- they mean you have the honor of being a mother.

Enjoy your walks! I miss those beautiful autumn walks!
