Playing Army

I got this cute picture sent to my by Mr Renn while I was taking my mom to a doctor's appointment today. Sir O and his cousin Kason. The caption "mixing bowls and playing army..." Somehow Mr Renn manages to have a lot more fun with the kiddos than I do. I deeply suspect that the amount of fun you are able to have with toddlers is inversely proportional to the quantity of time you spend alone with them.
My mom is recovering from jaw surgery.... it looks none fun. You try eating out of a syringe with your mouth wired shut for weeks and see how you feel. She's a trooper.

Yeah, I know from experience that those liquid diets are NO FUN whatsoever, ESPECIALLY during the holidays. At least she's not limited to a clear liquid diet [yuk!], so hopefully she can enjoy at least some tasty liquids. You know, its not like she has a lot of stored reserves that her body can draw upon for energy during this stressful time. Even in the best of times she looks as if somebody is rationing her food. We're praying for her speedy and full recovery.

Having cousins close to your own age to play with is one of the most special blessings of extended family.

I love the tupperware lettuce container as the helmet.....what child hasn't worn that as a helmet? Mine did.

My husband had his jar wired shut for about 8 weeks, the first part was liquid then he moved onto soft foods---that didn't require chewing, over cooked pasta, raspberries etc. Not fun.
