I love it when people come to visit us, because we actually go places and do things. Sadly this never happens otherwise. On Monday we packed everyone up and went to Atlantic City. Renn has a "thing" for only trying free beaches. Oliver thought he had died and gone to heaven. There was sand as far as the eye could see and his mother wasn't yelling at him to stay out of the dirt! He ran wild and played in the surf and dug in the sand and loved life. (Until we tried to pack him up and change his clothes for a walk down the boardwalk, eek.)

It was enough to make me understand why people feel strongly about raising their kids by the ocean. Beaches are amazingly tactile places, with gazillions of sensory experiences. Has to be good for kids.

oh I envy you. I miss the ocean. I've never been farther (or is it further I have no idea) away from it.
no way! val and i were down in AC on monday too!! maybe the fog made us miss each other...
li'l mil had a blast, once he got over his fear of the ocean. we might have to make a ritual of this, whatdayathink?
i'm glad sir o spent more time playing in sand than eating it. although he's probably been past that stage for a while, huh?
I do miss being only 2 hours from a beach. What's not to love about the Jersey Shore.
Man I miss living by the beach. I suddenly realise how spoilt I was growing up where I did. Its good to see you having the fun I can't have right now. sigh.
