Great Pumpkins

Spent the largest chunk of today out at Longwood Gardens again. They had their giant pumpkin weigh-off today and Mr Renn really wanted to see how one weighs a giant pumpkin. (He also wanted to learn how to grow them, but once he learned how much time was involved in keeping them from rotting/falling to bits I think he reconsidered). It was a fun and festive time, Sir O always enjoys the indoor children's garden (with 50 someodd fountains to play in), there was a cool display of blown-glass pumpkins, live musicians, pumpkin carving, and miniature trains. Oh, they had to throw the trains in there so there would be something we had to tear Oliver away from kicking and screaming. He loved 'em. Really pretty fall flowers/foilage and the leaves are just starting to turn. Very pretty, exhausting, relaxing family day. More photos here.

That looks like a fun, fall day. Li'l Mil is getting into the kicking and screaming (and sitting down when he doesn't want to go along so you end up dragging him) phase...so I'm pretty sure I'm glad we didn't make it down that way today :)

I'm always surprised at how huge pumpkins can get. Can you imagine the seeds in those things?

And the kicking and screaming sounds familiar. Peanut laid down on her tummy the other day and kicked her toes on the floor while screaming in a tantrum. *sigh*
