groove making day

Working on creating a new "normal".

Tricky parts include convincing Sir O that the Captain is not a toy, should not be picked up, and does not appreciate poking.

Especially when he's sleeping. Argh.

Advice anyone?

I am not sure, but I have become a broken record when it comes to teaching Conrad things. Oh. I remember hearing something that might apply here. A common mistake parents make: not showing a child how to act in the correct manner.
Example, example, example I guess.

So far, telling Li'l Mil how much Nano loves his hugs has worked wonders. He stopped poking her eyes after the first day and replaced it with lots of hugs. He tries to pick her up sometimes, so I put him on the couch and put her in his lap for a few minutes, then he's over it.

We'll see what next week brings, eh?

What helped with me was having Mason help out as much as a 2 year old could. (when I had Camden) Have him get diapers for you and things like that. If he will. I don't know. Haven't been around Sir O in awhile. The Captain sure is handsome though.

I have no good advice but I will need to know what works after you figure it out.

Your baby is so adorable. He really has the cutest little face.

Oh, I just so wish that it was more convenient for us to have Oliver come play with us for a few hours so he can get those little wiggles out! Poor, Oliver. He just wants to "love" his brother.

My advice comes from child psycological theory I learned in college, so take it or leave it. Children, or most people for that matter, respond very well to praise. I agree with what everyone has said above about giving a good example, giving Sir O a chance to practice, and then say things like, "Thank you for being gentle, soft, careful, etc." over and over and over.

I can't even think of the words that describe how looking at your sweet baby make me feel. Thank you for sharing.

All I know is the word soft is used over and over and over around here...soft SOFT SOFT!!! Oslo loves Luca so much it seems to pain him that he can't sit on her and then swallow her whole.

Em, I can't give any advice about that yet, but I can say that you have a BEAUTIFUL baby!!! I need to come and hold him again!

No advice, but I just have to say that the pictures of that little man are precious!

My Caden didn't really bother his sister. When he did, I would just have to repeat myself 20 times until finally he caught on. Sir O will get used to him.:) Captain is SO CUTE!!!
