I'm remembering why this is not my favorite thing to do....

At Mr Renn's encouragement, we let our gentleman have his first taste of solids today.  I don't think we're ready to start enduring this every day.  I only lasted about 90 seconds, and then I had to stop.  The futility of shoveling slobbery cereal back into my baby's mouth just so he could thrust it back out again got under my skin fast.  I passed the torch to Mr Renn and then grabbed the camera instead.  Based on how I handled the whole affair, it may be a while before anyone sees this again:

1st food

1st food

1st food

I. Hate. Spoon-feeding.

I try to keep it as a brief a period as possible.

Rori had a really hard time figuring out what to do with her tongue when we started her on solids. She would push the food out instead of swallowing. She was also a constant drooler so you can imagine the fun we had trying to get her to swallow.
We finally decided to to try feeding her while she was laying down so gravity could help. We would lay her down on a towel to prevent messes on the floor and it worked wonderfully. It made spoon feeding WAY easier.
My boys were great at eating with a spoon so I was knew to the whole "spoon feeding is hard" thing. This was the best solution we could come up with. Might be worth a try.
Good luck with!
