ketchup

Life has been a quickstep lately.

January has cornered me with an unusually unforgiving frequency of migraine headaches, and it tends to make life slip between your fingers when that happens.

But I've caught a few grains of it lately, and I ought to dole them out.

We got our perhaps one and only snowstorm of winter, and tried to make the most of it.  Thanks to our lucky stars it happened on a Saturday that Mr Renn was home.  That made the snow about a zillion times more fun for us all.

Our gentleman has decided to take to walking like a duck to water.  Only he doesn't exactly walk, it's more of a march.  And it's hilarious.  He's also decided to go through another anti-sleep phase.  Just what I needed.

In fact, my children have in general expressed the opinion that I'm not aging quickly enough, and they ought to speed the process up.  I don't exactly agree, but the other night while I attempted to fix dinner (through another migraine), they opted to turn my bathroom into a water park.  They filled the tub with water and with every towel in the house, squirted sunscreen all over the floor and were found slip n' sliding around in their wet bathing suits while the showerhead ran full-blast, soaking the towels and completely emptying the water heater.  At least I had the presence of mind to document this lunacy, right?

We attended my niece's baby blessing (which was lovely) and the Captain got to re-celebrate his birthday a bit.  He's such a gracious birthday boy.  I love him to bits.

And that's about as caught up as I can render this blog-o'-mine.  Let's see if I can catch a break in what's left of January, because February doesn't have a great track-record with me.    And someone send my kids a memo about their mother's need to sleep and perhaps not spend all of her discretionary time cleaning up ridiculous messes.  Think it would help?
