Mixed thanks

Well I'm glad the bee stung me and not my baby - but it still hurts! The swelling had been going down most of the day yesterday, but I woke up this morning with a fat red wrist.

And why haven't we seen more pictures of Sir Oliver you ask? Well it's partly because I haven't been able to get a picture of him without both fists crammed into his mouth. This little boy is becoming very vocal. I swear he's always singing to me (when he's not crying). I have to admit he is pretty good company for a 3 month old.

I got the bee sting at a park near the library. That's right - I finally went to the library. (Wahoo for me!) It was disappointingly small, but there are still plenty of books I haven't read for the time being. And apparently there is a park full of bees adjacent to the library. Who knew?

Ow!!
From my understanding, I haven't been stung by a bee since I was very little. I either was too young to remember, or it was so traumatic that I repressed the memory.
I'm not proud of it, but I happen to be one of those people that turn into a shrieking, squealing, arm-flapping little girl if a bee approaches me.
But hey, it works. I haven't been stung in a long time.

Yeah - I can't remember the last time I was stung, I thought I was pretty good at avoiding them. This one was hiding in the diaper bag when I went to put something in it. Scared the bajeebees out of me.

I got stung about 3 years ago. I was going to bed and layed down on my pillow, and I heard a buzz and felt a pinch on my FACE!! I turned the light on and there was a bee flying around the room, so I killed it and calmly walked upstairs to tell my mom. It seriously hurt so bad! It throbbed for a few days, but didn't swell too much. I have a fear of bee's, so I have no idea why I was that calm!:) Hopefully you will get a good laugh out of that!

Ouch Em! I was actually going to comment on the cute "Bee Room" that Oliver lives in. How ironic is that? Best remedy for bee stings... a frozen package of peas. Trust me, believe it or not, when I was a little girl, I liked to be "adventurous" and I walked into several bees nests. The most I had at one time was 17. Not exactly a world record, but it sure felt like one to a nine year old girly girl.
