Tell me truly, does he look like a girl? I thought, and still think, that this outfit was darling (soft spot in my heart for smocking), but when Mr Renn put this on Sir Oliver for church today he complained that it was too much like a dress and that it made Oliver look like a girl. Now being a girl I don't see anything wrong with looking like one, unless you are a boy and it makes your daddy look at you disapprovingly.
Broke my little mommy heart... but not enough to make me take it off. He wore it all day, still has it on actually.

He looks absolutely adorable! I also think the elephant and giraffe have a bit of a masculine side to them. Remember to enjoy this time with him...it passes so quickly.
I don't think there's anything that particularly screams "grilie." I think he looks darling and would have left him in it all day, too.
That is definitely a boy outfit. I love it! Put it on him and enjoy it while you can because he will grow out of it way too fast.
I love the springtime colors, maybe the pastels are what Renn isn't a big fan of? I think he is adorable, and "springtime-y" not girly.
yes, kind of.
I vote no: he doesn't look like a girl. That being said, it is more "traditional" little boy than "modern" little boy.
There is a lady at church who is scandalized every time I bring our 3 month old to church in any color but white (just about every week).
Em- I think it's those beautiful eyes he's got that make him look more like a girl!!! You better keep an eye on him when he grows up!
He looks darling. Not girlie at all- and I LOVE smocking, too- and am actually learning how to do it for a dress for Abby.
ummm.. if Renn was wearing the same outfit? I think I side with Renn. But oliver is darling anyhow
Thank you for all who weighed in. Looks like only 20% agree with me. None the less, if any of your husbands, boyfriends, or men in your lives wore something like that they might be considered a little too in "touch" with their feminine side.
bye-the-way, the last post was by Mr Renn
Renn, in response to your comment about being "too in touch with your feminine side", just remember that there is a difference in a little boy wearing a cute outfit and what a grown man wears. I hope I don't see any grown male wearing Sir Olivers outfit or anything like it. But it looks very cute on him and any other little boy his age.
Yeah, I would run for the hills if my husband came out for church in a smocked shirt with a giraffe and a monkey on it...!
However.... I wouldn't wear a pinafore and patent leather maryjanes with ankle socks, either, but they look adorable on Abby!
It's a darling outfit for a LITTLE boy.
Ditto Tracy.
