update

Ah, I have a bit of creative energy after all. My motto for the past few days has been "do instead of stew..." For all of his good points Mr Renn has the unfortunate influence of causing me to second guess my aesthetic ideas and their validity. We've been contemplating recovering our (nasty) kitchen and bathroom floors with vinyl stickers since we moved in, but every time we go to look at them we end up stewing instead of doing and we leave the store with no vinyl. We had the same problem with paint for quite a while, and are still technically in the thick of it.

I'm not (creatively/aesthetically) that patient of a person. I have to tackle something when my fancy strikes, or I get the wind knocked out of my sails. Hmmm.... growing up that was frequently called "Hess timing".... because my dad was like that and often times fancy would strike at inconvenient times....

So the last few days I've been "doing instead of stewing..." Here's at least one project I've tackled. (Used to be a plain white box of a wardrobe)

Ah, that feels good.

And some more good times had at our house, watching Good Eats:

I love it Em! You have quite the knack for turning simple things into fantastic and elegant things. I could learn a thing or two from you.

That wardrobe is so awesome. I have no knack for making things look cool and different. I guess that makes it easy, but how boring is that?

I like the wardrobe...I rarely get excited about making changes around here...being married to an artist kind of makes it hard for me to want to be the "creative" one. But I'm feeling inspired maybe I will find something to beautify today.
