That 3rd picture down totally reminds me of your little sis, back when she was little (when we were sophomores) is the last time I've seen her in person. So cute, but sad about the scratches poor guy.
Ahhhh! I hate the whole nail thing...poor little Oslo always has at least one terrible red line on his face...cutting them is such a hard process. Good luck with sweet Oliver.
You've probably already tried this, but I can usually distract my squirt with some little kid television show for a few minutes while I give her a quick little manicure.
I believe baby nail growth is SERIOUSLY out of control. We cut Peanut's several times a week. She's usually good, though, thank goodness. She likes to watch us do it. It's actually one of the few times she does sit still. I guess she finds it entertaining? When she was a newborn a waited until she was sleeping to do it. If Sir O isn't too light a sleeper you could give that a try.
Yikes. I agree with Hairyshoefairy. It is out of control. I try to make it a Saturday activity every week, or else serious consequences do happen. When I trim Mr. D's nails I sing Twinkle Twinkle, it seems to calm him down just enough for him to hold still for 10 seconds at a time.
As I was reading this, I got swiped by a nasty sharp nail! Grrr...it's the worst chore for me since she just won't sit still. I literally "feel pain" for you both.

Those nails are a beast!

Aww, poor little guy. I seem to remember being swiped at by Chloe and Sophie's little razorblades of fingernails. They're deadly.
