When the children are asleep

Sir O had a rather ornery day today. He insists on getting into garbage cans, finding hidden scissors, and eating crayons. Then the moment I'd tell him "no" (firmly) he'd burst into googly alligator tears. This whole transition from 2 naps to 1 thing is rough, I want 2 naps back! (But he'll have nothing to do with it)
But now he is asleep, I've made a batch of awesome sugar cookies to decorate tomorrow with two cute kids so their mama can sleep. I've finished piano lessons for the week (I picked up a few students to try to make some ends meet that weren't quite meeting....) and I sewed half of the ties for the cradle bedding bumpers. (Seemed like a good place to start) Oooh, and I also pined after deeply discounted furniture (I don't know why I don't allow myself to pine after full-price furniture...I can't afford it either way), and even managed an uneventful trip to le library. (Yeah me!) I'm trying to remind myself that I have a husband who needs to do more than sleep, study, and eat. Even if the only thing I've seen him do besides that lately is watch a little TV (Modern Marvels, Mythbusters, and Good Eats).
We are a family treading water...of sorts.

Tomorrow: I bring you the bestest sugar-cookie recipe....and hopefully some pictures of some great kiddie cookie decorating.

Ooh! You really shouldn't have linked to that fun furniture site. Now I'm pining, too.

Yay for an uneventful library trip!!

In addition to Mythbusters and Modern Marvels, NYDD also enjoys The Daily Show and The Colbert Report. And more recently The Blue Planet. Yeah, sometimes I wish he'd relax by, you know, doing the dishes or something.

So do you think we'll ever be rescued or finally make it to shore in stead of just treading? Sometimes I wonder. And my arms get too tired.
