long haul

stir crazy 2

Sir O has not been on his best behavior lately.  I don't particularly blame him, he has any number of reasons to act out.  His mom just had a baby, his dad is out of town for a month, he hasn't been getting outside much lately, and inside he can hardly turn around without getting in trouble for touching things he's not supposed to.  No wonder he is asking me when he can move back to Pennsylvania.  I'm trying to figure out what he needs most from me right now: attention? affection? boundaries? structure?
I have no idea.
Plus I'm frequently preoccupied with the littlest man in the house who is utterly dependent on me for every little thing.  This makes it hard to think straight.  It also makes it hard to remember to eat meals and stay hydrated.  And those things make it hard to think straight too.
Luckily Mr Renn gets a long weekend this week and is driving up to spend it with us.  I think we shall all be terribly glad to see him.

I'm sorry life is a little (haha) crazy right now. I could tell you it get's better (and it does) but that really isn't going to help you right now, I'm sure.
How much longer is your hubby gone for?
I must have missed the explanation post, but where is he and why is he gone for a whole month? I can empathize with your situation and all I can say is hang in there and do what you can. Our little one is coming in a few weeks and I'm not looking forward to the adjustment period that is bound to happen.

Renn is doing a month-long rotation on an Indian reservation near Blanding. For some reason I didn't want to up=and-join him (and be stranded in a barely-furnished apartment all day) with a 3-week-old..... go figure.

Ugh. This is, and will continue to be, a hard month. You can make it, though. I'm sure of it!

Oh wow Em, you have your hands full. To have a newborn and be on your own in someone elses space, yikes! But if anyone can do it, I know you can! Maybe Sir O and the Captain would like to come over and play? Also, you look fabulous in that picture, you're glowing and your new hair is darling.
