I'm kicking myself for not having a proper before-photo to show you all the gaping holes, but I got this sofa off of ksl classified's shortly after we moved in, and I paid too much for it considering it was in shreds. The shape and the bones were too awesome and antique and well-built for me to pass up. But the little holes quickly turned into big gaping holes with our boys, and so this was an emergency intervention. The fabric I picked is an indoor outdoor linen from Sunbrella. The color is "stone." I got it for less than $20/yard on ebay, and the unholstery guy said it was a great deal, his cost for a similar fabric is over $30/yard. I wanted something neutral and as kid proof as possible, and so far I'm loving it. I can't tell you how lovely it is to have a "real" and "on purpose" piece of furniture like that. Makes me grin every time I see it.

Happy Birthday to me! A new sofa to lie on all day while I hold very still and try not to puke. It's perfect!
