My domestic Divo

Sir Oliver, in the past 24 hours, has developed a love-affair with our broom. (He flirts with the mop and dustpan as well). Whenever it gets "too quiet" around here, we know precisely where he'll be, and what he'll be doing. Mr Renn keeps saying "no" and taking it away, but I'm wondering if we might be missing a great opportunity here. If I can just coax him a bit, maybe I could get him to get the floor cleaner instead of dirtier with his play!
Well, first I have to teach him that the sweeping end doesn't go in his mouth.

Oh, do let him! My boys LOVE to sweep, mop and vacuum. It doesn't always look great, but they absolutley love it- and it creates good habbits. I even got them small brooms and a dustpan.

Nothing beats the vacuum, however!

It sounds like the broom/mop infatuation must be a boy thing--Grant loves them, too! It was all cute and sweet until he took out a set of shelves and bonked Lily's head, however! The big broom was then given a new home in our garage closet behind a locked door and was replaced with a much softer broom with a short (broken!)handle. Moral of the story...get him a broom his own size!
